Once again, we're back! It's time for the fourth Test in The Ashes for 2023, and things just got interesting, because England was finally able to get on the board in the third Test, with a three-wicket win. If the first three Tests were anything to go by, this one is sure to be a doozy at Old Trafford.
Marsh saved Australia in the first innings, putting on 118 in just 118 balls, which gave us a respectable total to defend. It was the quicks for the Aussie bowlers, with Cummins claiming seven wickets across the match, and Starc getting eight wickets.
Stokes stood up for the English batters in the first innings, with 80, and it was Brook who helped guide them to a win with 75 in the second innings. Wood was the standout for the English bowlers, taking a total of seven wickets across the match, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

This Ashes series has been an absolute cracker. So many momentum shifts and counter punching from both teams. England won the last battle at Headingley, another classic Test match where both teams could win late in the Test.
Mark Wood proved the match winner with sheer pace with the ball and then aggressive in his batting. Some questions for Aussies with their team. I expect Warner and Hazelwood for Boland to play. Marsh has to play after his 100 so maybe Green is the unlucky one. Aussies to bounce back here.

Strange that the two best batsman in either team Root and Smith, beside one classic ton each, have really struggled in this series. Root is too good a player to be this quiet so backing him to score runs here and be the top English run scorer for the first innings.
Top Australian Wicket Taker (First Innings)
Captain Pat took a six-wicket haul in the first innings classic spell of pace, accuracy and hostility. He looked a little bit tired in the second innings, but with over a week off he should be fine to dominate this Test match with the ball.

Mark Wood was brilliant in the last Test match. He looked yards quickest than anyone else and swung the ball and intimidated our tail. Thinking it will be more of the same in this Test, he will make the Aussie batters work for their runs in this match.
