Check out all our expert NRL tips for Round 16 below:

Game 1 – North Queensland Cowboys vs Penrith Panthers, Friday 16th June, 8pm

Origin rounds are always tricky for the Panthers, who are missing a host of players on top of injured general Nathan Cleary. The Cowboys are also affected but nowhere near as badly and at home, I would have them favourites. The bookies think otherwise and are giving the Cowboys a +2.5 points start – an option I like.

Game 2 – Newcastle Knights vs Sydney Roosters, Saturday 17th June, 3pm

It’s crunch time for the Roosters – they are well down the ladder but still only one point out of the top eight on a congested table. The Knights are a team with plenty of strike power while the Roosters, remarkably for a team with such a fine roster, have scored the least points in the NRL. I like the option of a Bradman Best anytime try – the guy is a BEAST!

Game 3 – Parramatta Eels vs Manly Sea Eagles, Saturday 17th June, 5.30pm

What a pity a game between two quality teams will be impacted by Origin – both teams are missing star power. They both had great wins last weekend but will field vastly different teams this time around. I think the Eels will win and I like Sivo to score two tries – he would have had two last weekend but was robbed by the bunker!!

Game 4 – Wests Tigers vs Melbourne Storm, Saturday 17th June, 7.35pm

The Tigers are once again on the bottom of the ladder but at least they have some luck on their side meeting the Storm during Origin time. Even so, Melbourne have plenty of big names left in their team and I like a two-leg multi – Will Warbrick anytime try into Reimus Smith anytime try.

Game 5 – Cronulla Sharks vs Canterbury Bulldogs, Sunday 18th June, 4.05pm

The Sharks have hit the wall losing three of their last five games but at least they have Nicho Hynes back on deck after he was dumped from Origin. The Bulldogs are also in the wars and at home, I think the Sharks will come good – take Cronulla 13 plus assuming it will be a nice sunny winter’s afternoon.
