Check out all our expert NRL tips for Finals Week 1 below:

Qualifying Final 1 – Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm, Friday 8th September, 7.50pm

First things first – put a line straight through last weekend’s clash between the teams – both were missing their best six to eight players and it was of little significance as a result. With their stars back, both teams are littered with star power, but I think the Broncos, at home, will be just a little too strong. Their backline is the best in the comp when they let the ball sing and I like a Selwyn Cobbo anytime try on the Dabble app.

Qualifying Final 2 – Penrith Panthers vs New Zealand Warriors, Saturday 9th September, 4pm

The Warriors have done a great job to get into the eight and are the wild card of the teams left in the Finals race – they can beat anyone but can also lose to anyone. The game is a real contrast – Penrith grind you down whereas the Warriors try to blast you off the park. If they play six times, the Warriors would probably win twice – so the chances are Panthers will win at home – take them giving the start.

Elimination Final 1 – Cronulla Sharks vs Sydney Roosters, Saturday 9th September, 7.50pm

Momentum is with the Roosters – they have won five games on the bounce and there’s no doubt they have the talent to make it six against the Sharks. They have a workmanlike pack and heaps of pace out wide – but I like the Sharks at home. They were clinical in despatching the Raiders last Sunday but the loss of utility back Connor Tracey will hurt. I see good value in a Jesse Ramien anytime try – he's having the best season of his career.

Elimination Final 2 – Newcastle Knights v Canberra Raiders Sunday 10th September, 4.05pm

Who would have tipped that the Knights would be playing Finals footy two months ago when they were secretly looking for a new coach! They haven’t lost a game since... full marks to Adam O’Brien and his men. They were too good for the Dragons without Kalyn Ponga last weekend and are playing with no fear. The Raiders limped into the Finals, but I think this will be the end of the road – I see a big Knights 13 plus win.
