Game 1 – Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets, Saturday 25th November, 7am
The Jets are having a nightmare season, especially with their offense. Since their bye four weeks ago, they have averaged a mere 9 points per game and mediocre quarterback Zach Wilson has been sacked 19 times. The Dolphins, in contrast, have scored more points per game than any team in the NFL, averaging 30.5 per game, so things could really get ugly here.
Game 2 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Indianapolis Colts, Monday 27th November, 5am
The Buccaneers are in the wars, having lost five of their last six games - but three of those were by seven points or less, so the stats aren’t quite as bad as they seem. Their running game is letting them down badly - they are last in the league, averaging a mere 76.9 rushing yards per game. Playing away against a Colts side fresh off a bye, it’s hard to see Tampa turning things around in this one.
Game 3 – Carolina Panthers @ Tennessee Titans, Monday 27th November, 5am
The Panthers are having the season from hell and are the lone one-win team left in the NFL after 11 weeks. But they have a great chance to double their win tally against the Titans, who have lost three games on the bounce, struggling big time in offense, averaging just 12 points in that time. Their main man Derrick Henry has managed just 45.7 rushing yards per game in those losses and needs to lift to get the Titans home. With two rookie quarterbacks going head-to-head, this is a tough game to predict.
Game 4 – New England Patriots @ New York Giants, Monday 27th November, 5am
Two struggling teams are already out of the race for finals footy, with the Patriots (2-8) and Giants (3-8) both finding points hard to come by all season. Somehow the Giants beat Washington 31-19 last week even though quarterback Tommy DeVito was sacked nine times, also throwing for three touchdowns. The Pats had a bye last weekend and will start as slight favourites.
Game 5 – Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos, Monday 27th November, 8am
The Browns boast one of the best defences in the NFL, and as a result are sitting pretty with seven wins and three losses. But the Broncos (5-5) have been installed as slight favourites on the strength of an impressive run of four straight wins after a slow start to the season. The Browns have added Joe Flacco to their practice squad, but Dorian Thompson-Robinson will start on Monday.
