Best Bet - 11. Imperatriz ($3.50) - Race 7, Group 1 William Reid Stakes
This Kiwi trained mare has won 12 from 18 and looked the winner in the Canterbury Stakes last outing but was grabbed late by the fast-finishing Artorius. Opie Bosson gets back in the saddle, I’m expecting he will settle her behind the speed, giving her every chance to let down strongly over the concluding stages.
Next Best - 8. Foxicon ($2.80) - Race 6, BM84 55 Second Challenge
This mare is in dazzling form, winning back-to-back races in dominant fashion, both over this track and distance. Up in grade but drops 5kgs, with Carleen Hefel using her 2kg apprentice claim. Makes her own luck on speed, I’m keen on her chances.
Value Bet - 2. I’m Innocent ($8.50 / $2.50) - Race 2, BM64 Handicap
I’ve found value early, a gelding who has won his last two races convincingly. He is first-up from a spell but has the benefit of a Pakenham jump out under his belt. He is at longer odds than the $2.45 SP last start.
