Best Bet - 11. Prowess ($6.00 / $2.10) - Flemington, Race 8
Some say it is a match race for the Champions Stakes this year between West Wind Blows and Prowess. We will take Prowess. She was our best bet on Cox Plate weekend and people laughed saying she had no chance at that distance, well she got up and with plenty left in the tank. This is her pet distance; she gets more room to work, and she gets the hottest jockey in Australia right now with Mark Zahra. The price is overs and a half, would be shocked if she doesn't place and she should run super.
Next Best - 6. Fangirl ($3.00) - Flemington, Race 7
Another race that people think are basically a match race between Mr Brightside, Fangirl and Alligator Blood. We will side with the girl in pink. She’s the Queen of the mile right now after she stamped that with authority in the Kings Charles Stakes. She can go on with the job here for sure. JMac knows this horse inside and out and he will give it every chance. She should be a champion by now, if only she didn’t have to chase Anamoe around almost her whole career. She can become one of Australia’s best horses with a win here.
Value Bet - 11. Our Last Cash ($11 / $3.40) - Flemington, Race 2
This horse is a bit of an omen bet based on Cashy’s name, but it also happens to be a really strong chance in our mind. He is 2/2 down the Flemington straight and he clearly has a knack for it. He comes here as the bottom weight; Craig Williams jumps back on board and will give it a red-hot chance! Certainly not the worst each-way bet you could make this weekend.
