Best Bet - 7. Bondi Prince ($2.45) - Echuca, Race 1
Bondi Prince gets a great opportunity to return to the winner's list here and I'm confident he can start the night off on the right foot for us Dabble punters!
A recent addition to the Glenn Freeman stable, the five-year-old put in an eye-catching effort for second last time out at Cobram and finds himself against a limited bunch of rivals here tonight.
I'm hopeful Blue Ocean will kick up and lead from barrier one, and if that's the case, I reckon Bondi Prince should be able to dash past him in the sprint lane to score.
Next Best - 7. Heir Apparent ($2.25) - Echuca, Race 3
I'm really keen on the chances of Scoop Linden in the fourth event on the card, but he's come up a little too short to back straight out.
Therefore, my next best bet at Echuca tonight is on Ken Tippet's trotter Heir Apparent. He's been running in stronger company than most - if not all - of his rivals lately and acquitting himself competitively, with this assignment looking very suitable for the four-year-old to land a third career win.
With even luck, it’s hard to see Heir Apparent not giving this modest up-to-55 trot a real shake.
Value Bet - 6. Willowdene Girl ($6.50 / $1.85) - Echuca, Race 5
Terrible draw is the worry here, but I've got to have something on Dean King's pacer given her recent form, which has been very good in stronger races than this.
Willowdene Girl was competitive at Charlton last time out, but it was the effort the start prior that most caught my eye. She settled last in the small field of six at Bendigo and closed off in slick sections to be beaten less than 2m by Sassiness in a 55-66 ratings event.
She slides nicely back in grade here with Jack Laugher sticking and represents a great each-way play in the opening leg of the Quaddie.
