Excellent overall record of 10 from 13 and unbeaten at Sandown winning all three of his starts at this trip, two of which have come from box 3. Tough run last start in the Top Gun Stayer’s Final when he was never on the track but still loomed to win down the back. Can atone here and get another crack at a G1.
Next Best - 2. Big Energy ($1.65) - Sandown, Race 8
Big winner in The Shootout last start and perfectly drawn again here. Two wins and a 2nd from his last three goes at Sandown. In career best form and can take out Heat 4 and earn his way into the Melbourne Cup final.
Value Bet - 4. Euler Bale ($6.50 / $1.90) - Sandown, Race 5
First of the Melbourne Cup heats here and we are going with the Deborah Coleman trained son of Dyna Villa off the middle draw. A winner three of his last four, including a dominant winner in slick time two back leading all the way off the inside draw. Expecting a bold showing here.
