Best Bet - 5. Ram Rocks - Sandown, Race 1
The fastest heat winner for this Maiden series. Was well backed on debut and was able to overcome some early buffeting off the six draw and put the race away by the point of the home bend. No reason why he won’t be able to do much the same off the five against similar company over the same track and trip.
Next Best - 3. Here Comes Blue - Sandown, Race 5
Missed the start off the one draw last start then copped a check at the winning post the first time. Had too much to do behind the smart Ike Bale from that point. Made steady headway in the middle stages and probably would have featured in the finish had he come out on even terms. Can atone here.
Value Bet - 1. Fernando Gomez - Sandown, Race 10
Strong win last time out against good company. Has an excellent overall record including three wins at Sandown, two of which have been off the red draw. Lands in a tricky heat here but more than capable on his recent form and looks to have plenty of improvement in him yet.
