Grand Final – Collingwood Magpies vs Brisbane Lions, Saturday 30th September, 2.30pm
The two best teams all year get to play off in the Grand Final which is a good result at the end of the day and the way it should be. The offensive beast that is Brisbane; can they break the MCG hoodoo on the biggest day of the year?
The Pies just find a way to win no matter the game or the situation, it’s just what they do. A few injuries to the Pies, you would think would affect them, but they have dealt with it all year and still get it done. It's going to be 27 degrees on Grand Final day, which will make the Lions feel like they are at the Gabba, but the Collingwood army won’t be making them feel welcome that’s for sure.
The early 2000s saw these two clubs play off in two Grand Finals, with the Lions winning both times but I think the Pies can turn the tables. Norm Smith medal after missing the Brownlow I think goes to Nick Daicos, the kid is a star and will rise to the occasion on the biggest day of the year.
