Best Bet - 3. Steparty ($2.90) - Caulfield, Race 7
This horse is a star. He is unbeaten and still untapped in my opinion. He could be anything. Should push to the front, drop the anchor, cruise around the turn and then explode down the straight. I think he is already the top seed for the Guineas in my mind, but he will most certainly be in everyone’s eyes after he wins the prelude.
Next Best - 8. Without A Fight ($5.50 / $2.15) - Caulfield, Race 9
Big fan of this boy. He was my tip in the Melbourne Cup last year but then the heavens opened up and it rained his chances out, as he is a strict dry tracker. He will get his rock-hard deck here and Zahra will give him a peach, as he did both times he rode him in the Brisbane Winter Carnival. He will sit amongst the pack, likely towards the back before passing them all in the straight as he goes around him with his thunderous pace.
Value Bet - 6. Savannah Cloud ($15 / $3.40) - Caulfield, Race 6
Savannah Cloud is the definition of a Mock horse. We back him every start and he always put in solid effort for us. I can’t remember the last time he didn’t finish within a few lengths of the finish. He is one of those honest types that clearly doesn’t like to lose and always digs in when the pressure is on. Another thing we love about this horse is the fact that he always gets overlooked by the market, which he has been again here. He is the best value anywhere around the country this weekend.
