2023 The Goodwood Day Preview

Horse racing tips incoming! Dabble’s very own Clare Lindop has broken down the card at Morphettville this Saturday, which includes the $502,250 Group 1, The Goodwood. She’s done all the hard work for you finding the best horse racing tips, so you don’t even have to lift a finger – how nice is that?!

Without further ado, see Clare Lindop’s best bet, next best and value bet for the card at Morphettville:

Best Bet - 1. Let'sbefrankbaby ($3.10) - Race 4, Group 3 South Australian Fillies Classic

Let’sbefrankbaby had VRC Oaks campaign last Spring. This preparation has looked excellent with a first up win, a solid third in the Group 3 Auraria behind Jennilala, (who went on to run third in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks) and last start comfortably beat older horses.

Jamie Mott is riding well, and the training partnership of Robbie Griffiths and Mike De Koch have a good strike rate when coming to Morphettville. I have included Moya Lass, Whispering Lady and Ravin in my multiples.

Next Best - 17. Another Award ($8.00 / $2.75) - Race 8, Group 1 The Goodwood

Very open race here, with Lofty Strike, Kallos, Savatoxl and Zapateo all needing to be included. I am looking for the value and a good ride from Jason Holder to bring up a Group 1 for the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas training partnership. Please note, that Jason will ride her at 53kg, (a half kilo over the advertised 52.5kg) but this is still a lightweight, and gives her 4kgs lighter than Kallos, and last time they met, there was only a 2kg spread between them.

Another Award won 4 starts back, beating Outlaws Revenge, the subsequent Wangoom Handicap winner. She has been racing consistently, and last start was charging home out wide in the Group 1 Sangster, has trained on well and, drawn barrier 3, so may be able to cut the corner here. With the expected pace on up front, and with the track rated a Soft 5 - it could suit the backmarkers to be swooping.

Value Bet - 10. Legless Lady ($23 / $5.50) - Race 7, Group 3, Proud Miss Stakes

Legless Lady ran well in a 1100m race first up, had to weave a passage through, and was hitting the line well late. She has been lightly raced, and always raced in strong races indicating the stable has a high opinion of her. I don’t mind the wide gate here, as she will getting home out wide.

Legless Lady has won second up, track and distance suit, as will a bit of give in the ground. This is a fairly even race, Foxicon the obvious one to beat, Snapped and Queen Of The Green both with good chances to include in multiples.

And just like that – you've got three awesome tips. Isn’t that awesomely awesome? Yeah, we think so!
