2023 South Australian Derby Day Preview

Horse racing tips incoming! Dabble’s very own Clare Lindop has broken down the card at Morphettville this Saturday, which includes the $502,250 Group 1, the South Australian Derby. She's done all the hard work for you finding the best horse racing tips, so you don’t even have to lift a finger – how nice is that?!

Without further ado, see Clare Lindop’s best bet, next best and value bet for the card at Morphettville:

Best Bet - 3. Star Vega ($3.00) - Race 8, Listed Adelaide Guineas

The 3-year-old Adelaide Guineas seems be a pretty open race on paper. Star Vega looks to be a progressive type, and stepping up to the mile here looks to suit. Freedman and Zahra pair up for this ride, which can only be a good thing. Including 10. Party Princess, and 6. Wine Barrel in my multiples.

Next Best - 16. She's Fit ($4.40) - Race 7, Group 1 South Australian Derby

It's the Group 1 South Australian Derby, and I think the fillies have been superior to the colts and geldings here. Hoping She’s Fit can win here for WA trainer Dan Morton and rider Chris Parnham. She has seemed to settle into Adelaide really well, drawn a bit better here and the 2500m looks to be of no concern.

Value Bet - 2. East Indiaman ($10 / $3.30) - Race 3, BM82 Autumn Series Final

Note this is ran on the Parks track, which should suit on pace runners. Easy Indianman is drawn absolutely perfectly, likes the track and distance, and jockey Jess Eaton rides this horse well. Presents good value at each-way odds.

Bonus Value Bet - 14. Hello Ladies ($51 / $10) - Race 6, BM82 South Australian Sprint Series Final

Ben Price taking the ride will bring him in with a light weight, consistent, will be running home hard. At the current price of $51 for the win and $10 for the place, it is definitely worth a shot at an each-way play.

And just like that – you've got three awesome tips. Isn’t that awesomely awesome? Yeah, we think so! We love that you love horse racing, and if you want to join other people who also think horse racing is the bees-knees, then look no further than Dabble’s Banter channel, dedicated solely to horse racing.
