2023 Doomben 10000 Day Preview

Horse racing tips incoming! Dabble’s very own Dean Watling has broken down the card at Doomben this Saturday, which includes the $1.5M Group 1, the Doomben 10000. He's done all the hard work for you finding the best horse racing tips, so you don’t even have to lift a finger – how nice is that?!

Without further ado, see Dean Watling’s best bet, next best and value bet for the card at Doomben:

Best Bet - 8. Ducasse ($5.00 / $1.95) - Race 5, Group 2 Champagne Classic

Ducasse was outstanding on debut, especially considering the circumstances. He was able to run the meeting's best sectionals on a Heavy10 surface when flashing down the outside, that’s quite incredible for just a 2YO.

He strips fitter and rises to 1200m with the booking of the in form Nash Rawiller. He will need a touch of luck from gate 8 but he will no doubt be the strongest horse late. I am expecting him to start favourite. I am having a little saver on the 9. Armed Forces as well.

Next Best - 3. A Very Fine Red ($6.00 / $2.25) - Race 9, Listed Bright Shadow Quality

A Very Fine Red was outstanding last start when sitting 3-wide the trip. Once she balanced up she motored to the line running the 6th fastest L200m of the entire meeting. The race overall rated through the roof and looks a solid form reference.

She now peaks 3rd up staying at the 1100m where the biggest tick is the gate. Form barrier 5 she can settle closer in the run with cover and give her a chance. She has a superior turn of foot and find a lovely race to break through in this prep. I am again having a little saver on 10. Siege as well.

Value Bet - 5. Stroke Of Luck ($7.50 / $2.35) - Race 7, Group 3 Rough Habit Plate

This looks a great race for Stroke Of Luck to breakthrough in. He has been so consistent this prep but has had his fair share of bad luck, hoping his luck turns around here. He has been freshened into this race with a sharp tick over trial.

He draws a lovely positive gate with the aggressive, in form Nash Rawiller aboard. There is no doubt Nash will use the gate to land up on speed, which could prove to be the difference between Stroke Of Luck and the short priced favourite Kovalica, who is likely to be near last.

And just like that – you've got three awesome tips. Isn’t that awesomely awesome? Yeah, we think so! We love that you love horse racing, and if you want to join other people who also think horse racing is the bees-knees, then look no further than Dabble’s Banter channel, dedicated solely to horse racing.
