2023 Doncaster Mile Day Preview

Horse racing tips incoming! Dabble’s very own Tai Ryan has broken down the card at Randwick this Saturday, which includes four quality Group 1 races, the $4M Doncaster Mile, the $3M T J Smith Stakes, the $2M Australian Derby and the $1M Inglis Sires Produce Stakes. They’ve done all the hard work for you finding the best horse racing tips, so you don’t even have to lift a finger – how nice is that?!

Without further ado, see Tai Ryan’s best bet, next best and value bet for the card at Randwick:

Best Bet - 1. Cylinder ($2.20) - Race 6, Group 1 Sires Produce

The James Cummings / James McDonald Godolphin combination is never far from the winner’s circle. The 2YO colt hasn’t been out of the placings in his 5 career starts, of which 4 have been at black type level.

This includes an impressive second place in the Group 1 Golden Slipper last start behind Shinzo and a first in the Group 2 Todman two starts back. He’s stepping up in distance, has beaten others in this field, and jumping from barrier 4, he looks the goods. You can take the each-way for safety, but I’ll be going straight up.

Next Best - 10. Giga Kick ($4.20) - Race 7, Group 1 T J Smith Stakes

The Group 1 T J Smith Stakes certainly looks an exciting one and I could easily pick more than one here! The Everest star, Giga Kick is up from Victoria and Zac Purton replaces the injured Craig Williams. This guy has only been out of the top 3 once out of his 7 career starts.

He resumed last start with a nice third in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes. He might be in slightly stronger class but he won second up last prep too and I think he’s got the formula to be very competitive here too. I’ll be taking an each-way bet.

Value Bet - 15. Running Bear ($12 / $3.80) - Race 5, Country Championship

I love these races for the country horses, but I won’t lie - I don’t usually bet on them, purely because I’m not as familiar with the players, but it’s Carnival time so it seems wrong if I don’t, especially with the big field!

This mare is having a lovely preparation, coming off a last start win at Warwick Farm and two second placings in February. She’s performed both at the distance and the track, so has claims to be in the running. Each-way bet.

And just like that – you've got three awesome tips. Isn’t that awesomely awesome? Yeah, we think so! We love that you love horse racing, and if you want to join other people who also think horse racing is the bees-knees, then look no further than Dabble’s Banter channel, dedicated solely to horse racing.
