Horse racing tips incoming! Dabble’s very own The Mock Sports has broken down the card at Caulfield this Saturday, which includes the $5M Group 1, the Caulfield Cup. Best Bet - 1. Lofty Strike ($3.40) - Caulfield, Race 6
Lofty Strike has to be our best bet of the day at Caulfield. While the favourite Spacewalk will have both the fitness and pace advantage, Lofty Strike has the turn of foot to run them all down and nab them in the final stages. You look through the form lines, In Secret, Uncommon James, I Wish I Win, it is pure Group 1 form, and he needs to be respected as such. He gives the rest of the field a lot of weight, but his class should take him all the way.
Next Best – 5. Viviane ($2.60) - Caulfield, Race 10
Beware the horse building a picket fence. They always seem like they will get knocked off, but somehow manage to keep on with it. This horse has managed to win 5 races on the trot now and is shooting for 6, stepping up to stakes class this time and she deserves it after beating up Benchmark horses for a while. She will kick right to the front and be very hard to run down. She is a big fan of this track as well, she will only run well you would think.
Value Bet - 5. Francesco Guardi ($15 / $4.60) - Caulfield, Race 9
For the big one, the Caulfield Cup, we are taking the Guard. The boy in green and black for the Waller camp and ridden by JMac. We think Waller’s strategy of progressively upping the distance to build his fitness has him prime here. He is 4th up, ready to peak, at a distance that suits him. He can win it here and then go on and be a massive threat on the first Tuesday in November. Not to mention, JMac has gotten down to 54kgs to ride him. He hasn’t ridden at that weight in a long time, so he clearly thinks he is a strong chance. He is overs, fingers crossed he runs up to scratch.
