Before we get to sink our teeth into The Ashes, the Aussies have a great opportunity to prepare, when they face off against India in the ICC World Test Championship Final. The match will take place at The Oval in London, starting on June 7th.
Will the Aussies be able to get revenge after going down to India in a series earlier this year, 2-1, which took place in India? Or will India prove yet again just how good they are and defeat the Aussies once more? All will be revealed in this test (that will hopefully last the full five days).
It's the perfect time for the Aussies to show off all the hard work they've been putting in since February and show England that they are a force to be reckoned with come The Ashes. Our cricket experts here at Dabble preview all the important details of this match and provide their best cricket tips:
Really looking forward to this Test championship. It gives a real relevance to every Test series. The Aussies were seething when poor over rates cost them a Final last time. These two teams met only a few months ago in India but different conditions await at The Oval. The quicks will enjoy some swing, seam and bounce. I think the Aussies will be too strong in the fast-bowling department and prefer the batting conditions in England over the Indians. So, what I think will be a cracking Test match between two worthy finalists will finish with the Aussies as the World Champs.
Damien Fleming's Expert Cricket Tip: Australia
Top Australian Run Scorer
Averages 60 in England and 65 against India, so the batting machine Steven Smith is my pick for most runs by an Aussie. For a bloke who was first picked as a leg spinner, he has turned out to be a great batsman maybe our second greatest ever behind the Don. A change of grip brought back his pull and hook shot, giving him more options against the quicks. Always hungry to score big runs, so good luck India.

Top Indian Run Scorer
In a star-studded Indian batting line up I'm going with the Wall Part 2 the non-IPL-ing Cheteshwar Pujara (the Wall Part 1 = Rahul Dravid) has scored 5 hundreds against the Aussies before and is currently scoring 100’s for Sussex in county cricket, so comes in the Final with form. Tends to wear the quicks down and goes after Gazza Lyon (love this battle).
Damien Fleming's Expert Cricket Tip: Cheteshwar Pujara
Top Australian Wicket Taker
Pat Cummins – The Cummins Corridor of Carnage – the Aussie captain and one of greatest bowlers of all time will lead from the front at The Oval. He is such a unique bowler with explosive pace but exceptional accuracy; his big wicket taker is the nip backer for bowled’s and LBW’s, which should be seen often at The Oval.

Top Indian Wicket Taker
Going with a pacer again with Mohammed Shami to take the most wickets for India. He had taken 225 wickets at an excellent average of 27. He bowls fast, he bowls outswingers, he swings it late, and can do a job with the old ball – with reverse swing mainly going into right-handed batsmen. Bowls close to the stumps and obtains a lot of bowled’s and LBW’s. He also has clever cutters and subtle change of pace as well, including a great bouncer. Gun.
