It's State of Origin time, baby! It's the most exciting time of the year, when the best of the best clash, fighting for glory and bragging rights. The NSW Blues will be looking for revenge as they lost Game 1 in Adelaide, 26-18, despite having a man advantage for the final 10 minutes of the game.
Things get even worse for the Blues, as Game 2 will be played at Suncorp Stadium. Can the Queensland Maroons lock up the 2023 State of Origin in Game 2, and go for a clean sheet down in Syndey? The last time a team won the series 3-0 was all the way back in 2010.
Our State of Origin tips cover all the key factors that will influence Game 2. So, if you are as obsessed with the NRL as the team at Dabble are, you have certainly come to the right place! Match Winner
Queensland won Game 1 on neutral turf when the Blues were favourites – now they are playing at home and can wrap up the series before stepping foot in Sydney. With the Blues’ injury worries and some questionable selections, I can’t see anything other than a Maroons win.

Handicap
Origins tend to always be close and tough and this one will be no different despite the Blues’ problems. I hate any start more than six points in a big game and Dabble’s 6.5 makes it very tough. I’m leaning towards taking the Blues as I see Queensland winning by 4 to 6 points.

Total Points
The total of 38.5 points is much lower than the average given in NRL matches and so it should be – Origin matches tend to be conservative and low scoring and with so much at stake, I don’t see this being any different. I imagine the final score being something like 16-12 to Queensland, so go the unders.

First Tryscorer
Reece Walsh was a standout in Game 1 and that will give him the confidence to go even better in front of his home crowd. If he’s not the fastest player on the field, he’s in the top three and has a knack of finding the try line. The Blues’ defence was shaky out wide in Game 1 and with more changes, he could have a big night out!

Anytime Tryscorer
Cameron Munster is in red hot form and loves to shine in the big games. He can score from an act of individual brilliance or is always on hand to back up the break. He hates the Blues and will score just to annoy them!
