Check out all our expert NRL tips for Round 24 below:
Game 1 – Manly Sea Eagles vs Penrith Panthers, Thursday 10th August, 7.50pm
This game shapes as the coup de grace for Manly’s already slim finals’ hopes, with the Panthers running hot and looking like the team most likely to win the comp at this stage. The Sea Eagles have struggled against the top sides all year and I see Penrith’s well-disciplined game getting them home by 13 plus after meeting some early resistance.

Game 2 – Cronulla Sharks vs Gold Coast Titans, Friday 11th August, 6pm
The Sharks ended a three-game losing run in fine style against the Rabbitohs last week and will start firm favourites here – but this is a danger game. The Titans fought bravely before losing with 12 men last week and have the strike power to worry most teams. You have to stick with the Sharks at home though and I see them winning and like a Nicho Hynes anytime try – he's back!

Game 3 – Brisbane Broncos vs Parramatta Eels, Friday 11th August, 8pm
The Broncos are going as well as anyone in the game and even the loss of general Adam Reynolds last week couldn’t stop their winning run. He should be back against the Eels, who looked scratchy in their come-from-behind win over the Dragons. At home, the Broncos have been strong all year and they should win and win well – Broncos to cover the start.

Game 4 – South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St. George Illawarra Dragons, Saturday 12th August, 3pm
The Rabbitohs’ finals dream is fading fast although they should beat the lowly Dragons, even without their main man up front, Tom Burgess, who faces suspension. Both teams have been awful in attack in recent weeks – the Dragons all year actually – so I see UNDERS as the way to go in this one – it will be an ugly game to watch.

Game 5 – Wests Tigers vs New Zealand Warriors, Saturday 12th August, 5.30pm
The Tigers can’t take a trick – could almost have beaten the Raiders last week but for some ‘dud’ refereeing decisions. There’s no stopping the Warriors, on the other hand, as they chase a top four spot. The Tigers have surrendered a home game to NZ for some cash and that could come back to bite them – Warriors by 13 plus.

Game 6 – Sydney Roosters vs Dolphins, Saturday 12th August, 7.35pm
Two teams whose finals hopes are all but extinguished should come up with a close battle. The Dolphins have been great in their maiden season, but it has proven all too long and hard for the new chums – they ran out of gas mid-year and injuries and suspensions haven’t helped. The Roosters are on life support, playing poorly and not deserving finals football but may still get there and I see them winning – take a Daniel Tupou anytime try.

Game 7 – Melbourne Storm vs Canberra Raiders, Sunday 13th August, 2pm
The Storm had an off night against Penrith last week – but then plenty of other teams also struggle against the Panthers and I see it as a minor hiccup. The Raiders struggled to beat the clueless Tigers and I can’t see them making the finals with another loss. Go a Will Warbrick anytime try – he is due to cross the stripe.

Game 8 – Newcastle Knights vs Canterbury Bulldogs, Sunday 13th August, 4.05pm
The Knights are the talk of the game with five straight wins, silencing the critics who were demanding the head of coach Adam O’Brien a few weeks back. With Kalyn Ponga in amazing form, they should win and win well – even though Bradman Best’s likely absence is a blow. Knights by 13 plus against the struggling Dogs.
