Check out all our expert NRL tips for Round 22 below:
Game 1 – Brisbane Broncos vs Sydney Roosters, Thursday 27th July, 7.50pm
For 30 minutes last week, the Roosters reminded us why they have been among the NRL’s elite teams for the past decade...before slipping back into their 2023 ways and losing the second half to the Titans. It’s hard to see them stopping the rampaging Broncos and I see Brisbane by 13 plus.

Game 2 – Wests Tigers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs, Friday 28th July, 6pm
The Tigers are the most consistent team in the NRL – you can bank on them to keep losing and another hiding looms at the hands of the Bunnies. Souths need the win to keep a top four dream alive and it’s hard to see them not running up a cricket score against the hapless Tigers. I like Souths -21.5, and it could even be a lot more than that if Cody Walker cuts loose.

Game 3 – Melbourne Storm vs Parramatta Eels, Friday 28th July, 8pm
Two of the supposed contenders for the title both got their bottoms smacked last weekend and will be desperate to get back to winning ways. Craig Bellamy would have been savage with his Storm this week after they self-destructed against the Knights, while the Eels were simply out enthused by the Cowboys. A tough game but the Eels defence was especially poor on the edges at Townsville, and I like the idea of a Justin Olam anytime try.

Game 4 – Canberra Raiders vs Newcastle Knights, Saturday 29th July, 3pm
The Raiders suffered a setback with a golden point loss to the Warriors last week, while the Knights played arguably their best game of the year in disposing of the Storm in a major upset. Despite this, I think the Raiders will be too strong at home and like Sebastian Kris for an anytime try – his form has been great this season.

Game 5 – St. George Illawarra Dragons vs Manly Sea Eagles, Saturday 29th July, 5.30pm
Two last-up winners...but Manly will start clear favourites despite just sneaking over the line against the Sharks. The Sea Eagles need to keep winning to stay in finals contention, while the Dragons have avoided the wooden spoon by beating the Tigers and have little else to play for. The Sea Eagles tend to rack up big scores against teams well down the ladder and for that reason I fancy the overs on the Dabble app.

Game 6 – Penrith Panthers vs Cronulla Sharks, Saturday 29th July, 7.35pm
The Sharks have lost their way in recent weeks, while the Panthers are getting their Origin stars and injured ace Nathan Cleary back – so everything points to a pretty comfortable Panthers win at home. I fancy a big score – and Brian To’o to score 2 or more tries will play off well.

Game 7 – Canterbury Bulldogs vs Dolphins, Sunday 30th July, 2pm
Thanks to the bye last week, the Dolphins are back in the hunt, just a win away from eighth spot. And the break will have done them good, with several players out or playing with niggling injuries. They should be too strong for the Dogs, who are ready for the season to end, but not by a lot – I like the Dolphins 1-12.

Game 8 – Gold Coast Titans vs North Queensland Cowboys, Sunday 30th July, 4.05pm
Time is running out for the Titans, with this a must win game with the team two wins outside the top eight. But the Cowboys have found their groove and emerged from the Origin period in good shape with their big guns firing. I can see the Cowboys winning fairly comfortably and like them in a halftime / fulltime double.
