Check out all our expert NRL tips for Finals Week 2 below:

Semi Final 1 – Melbourne Storm vs Sydney Roosters, Friday 15th September, 7.50pm

Both these teams took a physical beating last weekend, losing several players while others are in doubt – it could end up a battle of the fittest for survival. The Roosters have been hit the heaviest, losing three of their outside backs in Billy Smith, Joseph Sua'ali'i and Joseph Manu and they will have to field a ‘spare parts’ three quarter-line against the Storm.

The Roosters weren’t technically great in beating the Sharks but showed true grit to finish one-point winners at Shark Park. The Storm was poor against the Broncos, but Craig Bellamy’s team rarely puts in two bad games in a row. With all this in mind, I’m going with the Storm to cover the start on the Dabble app.

Semi Final 2 – New Zealand Warriors vs Newcastle Knights, Saturday 16th September, 4.05pm

The Knights’ winning run is up to a remarkable 10 games – but only just! The Knights appeared to take Canberra too lightly last weekend – and had a real dogfight on their hands as a result. But win they did, earning them a trip to Auckland against a Warriors team still hurting from their spanking at Penrith last weekend.

But the Warriors are hoping their talisman Shaun Johnson will be back on deck after a calf injury saw him a late withdrawal at the Panthers – and if he plays, he will make all the difference. At home with Johnson back, I think the Warriors will be too strong and I’m going for a real value bet – Addin Fonua-Blake to score an anytime try. The big man has scored tries in vital games this season and has the size and mobility to get over the line.
