Without further ado, see Tim O'Connor's best bet, next best and value bet from around the grounds this Saturday:
Best Bet - 1. Illawong Larajay ($2.70) - Melton, Race 5
Tough night to find a best bet at Melton, but I'm very keen on the chances of Jess Tubbs' trotter Illawong Larajay in the opening leg of the Quaddie.
She won in effortless style last time at Ballarat courtesy of a good trip along the pegs and should get that again this evening, either leading or trailing a front-runner.
Hard to see her not going close in this.
Next Best - 8. Rocky Monaloo ($5.00 / $1.75) - Melton, Race 7
El Boston should be leading this 1200m sprint and rolling along in front, but I'm not sure he's going well enough to hold out some in-form rivals.
Therefore, I'm keen to work around him and I've sided with Kylie Sugars' charge Rocky Monaloo, who was very good when closing off behind last week's best bet Our Vincent Can Gogh.
He was wide in the last lap and actually held off the very talented Blood Moon (who had his back) to run second in good closing fractions.
I'm confident he will be hitting the line hard from the back again this evening and can win at a nice price.
Value Bet - 6. Younggiftedandblack ($9.00 / $2.45) - Melton, Race 3
This girl has been running super races with tough runs in transit, and might be forced to do that again tonight, but I've got to be involved at the price given how well she's competing.
She was trapped in the death at Ballarat last time out and surged to the front only to be grabbed on the line, and produced something similar at Geelong when runner-up before that.
If she gets a good trip tonight, she's sure to go close at very good odds.
