Check out all our expert AFL tips for Round 8 below:

Game 1 – Carlton Blues vs Brisbane Lions, Friday 5th May, 7.50pm

The Blues can win this game and I really think they will. Yes, last week was a confidence builder versus the Eagles, but I think it’s a massive danger game for Brisbane. They are playing some good footy but again away from home against some good oppositions have bought them unstuck a few times this year. Big game for both sides – a lose the doubters get more vocal, a win they are put away for a week at least.

Expert AFL Tip: Total Points – Over 167.5

Game 2 – Richmond Tigers vs West Coast Eagles, Saturday 6th May, 1.45pm

I'd say there will not be a heap of people attending this game especially if the weather is average. Tigers have no answers to poor form and the Eagles just have no players and to be honest no real style that would get you excited about the future. I'd say the Tigers win purely on the basis it's in Melbourne and that is about it, not a heap of insight I know but it is that type of game.

Expert AFL Tip: To Kick 3+ Goals - Dustin Martin

Game 3 – Geelong Cats vs Adelaide Crows, Saturday 6th May, 2.10pm

Heart breaking for the Crows last week and I sense some more coming, Geelong was super last week against an inform Bombers outfit – Dangerfield, Cameron, Stewert – all fit and playing extremely good footy makes it hard for any opposing side. Adelaide have shown plenty this year and put themselves in winning positions but are they at the level of Geelong…I think not yet.

Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Cats 28+

Game 4 – Gold Coast Suns vs Melbourne Demons, Saturday 6th May, 4.35pm

It's good to see Gold Coast have a few wins but fair to say they needed them and was expected considering opposition. The Dees had a training drill last week and sometimes that helps with the travel this week. I can't see Gold Coast winning but the effort the last few weeks has been a lot better, expect them to be in it for a fair way.

Expert AFL Tip: To Kick 2+ Goals – Jacob van Rooyen

Game 5 – Greater Western Sydney Giants vs Western Bulldogs, Saturday 6th May, 7.25pm

I have a feeling a particularly good player might be under an injury cloud, which if he does not play will definitely impact the outcome. The Giants come behind win last week was huge, and the Bulldogs have been playing some really good footy of late. There will be a bit of spice in this contest and both teams don’t really like each other, the Giants must break a 9-game losing streak in Canberra which does not mean a lot, but stats don’t lie.

Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Bulldogs 12+

Game 6 – Fremantle Dockers vs Hawthorn Hawks, Saturday 6th May, 7.30pm

Again, we have a bit of a non-event game, lucky the other game Saturday night will be a lot better to watch. The Dockers should win purely the fact it's at their home deck and I cannot really give you another reason. Hawks will give it a crack, but I feel the Dockers midfield (the most consistent part of the team) will get a hold these young bucks and that is the game.

Expert AFL Tip: To Get 30+ Disposals – Andrew Brayshaw

Game 7 – Port Adelaide Power vs Essendon Bombers, Sunday 7th May, 1.10pm

I think this is probably the most even game of the weekend. Port have found their mojo and the youth they have running through that midfield is going to be in time the best going around. The Bombers have come up against two better sides the last two weeks and with some injuries to key positions were a bit exposed. Could be and probably will be whoever wins the midfield battle wins the game.

Expert AFL Tip: To Get 25+ Disposals – Connor Rozee

Game 8 – Collingwood Magpies vs Sydney Swans, Sunday 7th May, 3.20pm

Heartbreak in last year's Preliminary Final but a different year, different form lines and personally, I feel will lead to a different result. The Pies aren't going as well as their record suggest but again, they just find a way. The Swans are depleted down back and the last few weeks it has been exposed weather it was from the get-go versus Cats or at the death versus Giants.

Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Pies 20+

Game 9 – North Melbourne Kangaroos vs St Kilda Saints, Sunday 7th May, 4.40pm

They survived being shipped down to Tasmania in 2028 but it does mean more home games in Melbourne for their supporters, let's hope they have improved by then. We need to remember they are only seven games into a new game style, but old habits rise their head when things go bad. The Saints went down swinging last week against the Power and no doubt will squeeze the life out of the Kangas this week

Expert AFL Tip: Total Points – Over 164.5
