Check out all our expert AFL tips for Round 3 below:

Game 1 – Western Bulldogs vs Brisbane Lions, Thursday 30th March, 7.20pm

Not sure the Bulldogs could be playing any worse and not sure the Lions could have played any better against the Dees. At the Gabba, 100% Lions but after their loss Round 1, I have some doubt about them travelling. The quality of the Lion's outfit should have the Bulldogs covered and Gardiner returning down back is perfect inclusion.

Expert AFL Tip: To Kick 3+ Goals – Charlie Cameron

Game 2 – Collingwood Magpies vs Richmond Tigers, Friday 31st March, 7.50pm

The Pies are humming at the moment, the best team to watch by far. The Tigers are tracking pretty well as well, but injuries are stacking up. Martin and Hopper doubtful, with Short and Broad out, it will test their depth, and the way the Pies are playing they would have needed all their players at their peak to have a chance.

Expert AFL Tip: To Get 25+ Disposals – Joey De Goey

Game 3 – Hawthorn Hawks vs North Melbourne Kangaroos, Saturday 1st April, 1.45pm

I'm sure the people of Tasmania will pack the stands out for this blockbuster, but not a lot of other people will be watching. Clarkson vs Hawks and its strange to say but I think they will be 3-0, I'll call anyone who saw that coming a liar. Kangers have some good young kids coming through and Hawks just look poor all over the ground.

Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Kangaroos 24+

Game 4 – Greater Western Sydney Giants vs Carlton Blues, Saturday 1st April, 4.35pm

I watched the Giants live last week and they had their chances to beat the Eagles, but I think conditions from the week before and travel took their toll. Greene and Green have been enormous and will have to be again to topple the Blues who are going very well. I query their bottom 4 players as their depth is suspect, but their quality over the ground is more than enough to win plenty of games.

Expert AFL Tip: Anytime Goal Scorer – Stephen Coniglio

Game 5 – St Kilda Saints vs Essendon Bombers, Saturday 1st April, 7.25pm

Who would have thought both these clubs rolling into Round 3 at 2-0, but it is a strange world we live in. Saints' defence as you would expect under Ross Lyon has been solid as a rock, the Bombers offense will look to test this structure decimated by injury. At the end of the day, one team will be 3-0 and the other team won't be too disheartened at 2-1. Bombers’ firepower and dash might break the Saints and if they do it could get ugly.

Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Bombers 35+

Game 6 – Port Adelaide Power vs Adelaide Crows, Saturday 1st April, 7.30pm

I just don’t know what to make of both these teams. Power blitzed the Lions in Round 1 then looked second rate against the Pies. Crows pre-season was good and filled their supporters with hope but two poor efforts to kick off the season leave them right back to where they have been last few years. I think the Power have the Crows covered but in Derbys anything can happen, look for it to be a close one.

Expert AFL Tip: To Get 25+ Disposals – Jason Horne-Francis

Game 7 – Gold Coast Suns vs Geelong Cats, Sunday 2nd April, 2.10pm

Although a lot of people say that GC are irrelevant, the first two weeks have been a bit disappointing, the way they have lost more than the actual losses has been the disappointment. On the other hand, Geelong have lost to two very solid outfits and if going full power, could have won both. Quality prevails here.

Expert AFL Tip: To Get 25+ Disposals – Cameron Guthrie

Game 8 – Melbourne Demons vs Sydney Swans, Sunday 2nd April, 3.20pm

Match of the round for mine, two very good sides which match up well against each other and have plenty of match winners across the board. Swans were in cruise control versus the Hawks and the Demons faced a fired-up Brisbane side at home. I feel this game will be close, but the Demons back on the MCG will suit them a lot more than the Swans, who are returning for the first time since last year's GF.

Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Demons 22+

Game 9 – Fremantle Dockers vs West Coast Eagles, Sunday 2nd April, 5.20pm

Two Derbys on the same weekend and again apart from the WA faithful, I can see much interest in this game. Freo have been the biggest disappointment so far in 2023, while the Eagles actually showed some good signs last weekend against the Giants at home. Flip a coin and no matter who it lands on I wouldn’t be that confident. WC just because.
