Check out all our expert AFL tips for Round 2 below:
Game 1 – Carlton Blues vs Geelong Cats, Thursday 23rd March, 7.20pm
Another cracking game to kick off Round 2, and another huge game for Carlton as the pressure will continue to build if they do not win. Cats played well and sense they are not going 100% rat power and comfortable where they are at, where Carlton do not have that luxury. Stewert out hurts but I still think they have the fire power up forward to score big.

Game 2 – Brisbane Lions vs Melbourne Demons, Friday 24th March, 7.50pm
Well, well, well. Not sure if it was Brisbane bad or Port really good but it was not an ideal start for the Lions. On the other hand, the Dees were the really good – really, really good. The best spine in the league who had some serious talent missing, can't see them losing this one with confidence high.
Expert AFL Tip: Anytime Goal Scorer – Charlie Spargo
Game 3 – Collingwood Magpies vs Port Adelaide Power, Saturday 25th March, 1.45pm
This the game of the round of the round for mine, In Round 1, the Pies knocked of the reigning premiers and Port beat a pre-season premiership favourite. Howe out for a while I assume will bring Frampton straight in to deal with the big Port forwards. Two high scoring very free flowing teams, so expect plenty of goals and not many tackles.
Expert AFL Tip: Total Score – Over
Game 4 – Adelaide Crows vs Richmond Tigers, Saturday 25th March, 4.35pm
Pre-season form does not necessarily translate to in season form. Crows blew a big opportunity (4.9 first quarter) to start off the season with a win against the Giants, and the Tigers fought their way back and were lucky to get away with 2 points. The Tigers stars, who were a bit off, will be better for the run and that quality will play a big part in getting them over the line.
Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Tigers 24+
Game 5 – Western Bulldogs vs St Kilda Saints, Saturday 25th March, 7.25pm
The tall timber approach did not quite work out against the best defence in the AFL, but I can see them bouncing back. A few injuries early hurt and Lobb going in for surgery now I think gives the team a bit more balance. Ross the Boss had the Saints playing his way and defensive structure was spot on. Offence versus defence…in this case it hurts me to say – offence.
Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Bulldogs 20+
Game 6 – Freemantle Dockers vs North Melbourne Kangaroos, Saturday 25th March, 7.30pm
Fremantle sold the dream on the back of last year and off-season recruitment but were the biggest let down of the weekend. Game style and scoring ability was not pretty and St Kilda undermanned fell into the win. The Kangas were the dominate team from go to woe although against poor opposition, but showed some good signs. Fremantle to bounce back, but if they lose, I will not be tipping them again this year.
Expert AFL Tip: To Get 25+ Disposals – Hayden Young
Game 7 – Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn Hawks, Sunday 26th March, 1.10pm
The easiest game to tip of the round, the Swans destroyed the Suns away from home and Hawks as expected did not show much. Buddy will miss this week but that allows us to get a look at the future with Logan McDonald taking the mantle as #1 key forward.
Expert AFL Tip: Winning Margin – Swans 65+
Game 8 – Essendon Bombers vs Gold Coast Suns, Sunday 26th March, 3.20pm
The Bombers looked dangerous in attack on weekend although playing witches hats, Gold Coast just were not good enough against a fired-up Swans outfit. GC need this win more than the Bombers; they have the quality of personal and Marvel will suit them more. Tipping an upset here, I assume Essendon will be favourites, but GC need to respond.
Expert AFL Tip: Total Score – Under
Game 9 – West Coast Eagles vs Greater Western Sydney Giants, Sunday 26th March, 6.20pm
I just do not know that the Eagles care, you would think after 2 years of poor performances they lift in front of their home ground, but I just do not know. Giants hung in there for the first two quarters then took their chances and when they got rolling looked hard to stop. The Giants start well they win, simple as that.
