Dabble Pick'Em: The Easiest Way to Build a Multi Across NRL and AFL Right Now

Dabble Pick'Em Banner with example Pick'Em from the Rabbitohs vs Broncos NRL game

It’s a big time in the Australian sporting calendar. 📅

The NRL is 12 rounds deep and producing a high-scoring season. The AFL is heading into Round 11 with the flag race already separating the contenders from the pretenders. Every weekend is a wall-to-wall double-header of the two biggest codes in Australia and if you haven’t tried Pick’Em yet, this is a quick guide to what it is, how it works, and how to build one across NRL and AFL in under 30 seconds.

If you haven’t tried Pick’Em yet, this is your complete guide. How it works, why it’s different to anything else in the Australian market, and exactly how to build a Pick’Em across NRL and AFL that takes less than 30 seconds.

What Is Pick’Em?

Pick’Em is Dabble’s dedicated player stats betting product. The concept strips away layers of complication and leaves you with one simple question:

Will this player go OVER or UNDER their projected point or performance line?

That’s it. That’s the whole product.

For example you’re presented with a player and a projected stat line like Caleb Serong to record 26.5 disposals or Kayln Ponga to score 7.5 points. Your job? Decide whether the player goes More or Less than that projection.

More or less. Every selection is a call on a single player stat. Add between 2 and 12 players to your Pick’Em. Each number of picks has a fixed Bet Multiplier that determines your payout structure unlike a traditional multi where the multiplier is built from rolling odds. traditional multi where the multiplier is built from rolling odds.

There are two types of Pick’Ems:

All-In: The classic format. Requires every pick to win! Payouts range from 3.5x to 1500x your stake.

Hedge: A different way to play the same slate. With Hedge, you don’t need every leg to land,  the bet can still pay out if you miss one or two picks, with the multiplier adjusting based on how many you get right. The trade-off is a lower starting multiplier than All-In. It’s a structural alternative, not a guarantee picks can still go either way.

Example: a 12-leg All-In needs all 12 picks to land. Switch to Hedge on the same 12 legs and the structure changes, you need 9 of 12 to win for the bet to pay, with the multiplier scaling down for each pick you get wrong. Get 8 or fewer right, and the bet doesn’t pay.

Adjusted Picks

Once you’ve got the basics down, Adjusted Picks add another layer to your Pick’Em lineups.

Adjusted Picks come in two flavours, and each one tweaks the projection line:

⚡ High-Risk Adjusted Picks (marked with a bolt): the projection line gets shifted to a harder number, meaning the leg is tougher to hit. The trade-off?  A higher multiplier impact on that leg. Your max payout can now go up to 7,500x your stake.

🛡 Safer Adjusted Picks (marked with a shield): the projection line gets shifted to an easier number, meaning the leg is an easier number making the leg more likely to land. The trade-off is a lower multiplier impact on that leg.

A few key things to keep in mind:

  • You can stack as many Adjusted Picks as you want into a single lineup.
  • You can mix high-risk bolts and safer shields in the same Pick’Em, go aggressive on a couple of legs, steadier on the others, whatever suits your read.
  • You can blend Adjusted Picks with regular projections in the same lineup, no need to commit to one or the other.
  • Before you finalise, Dabble shows you exactly how the Adjusted Picks affect your potential payout so you can see the math before you confirm.
  • Adjusted Picks are an All-In feature only, the line shifts aren’t compatible with the
  • partial-payout structure of Hedge.

And if a player gets ruled out 60 minutes before kickoff? Rather than voiding your bet, Dabble adjusts your Pick’Em, your 8-leg becomes a 7-leg, the rest of your slate stays live and the multiplier updates accordingly. Unreal!
